According to the notification, AFCAT 2022 exam is conducted in two stages – online test and SSB interview conducted by Air Force Selection Board (AFSB). Candidates applying for Ground Duty (Technical branch) will have to appear for an additional Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). IAF conducts AFCAT twice a year in February and September to recruit eligible candidates as Commissioned/ Class 1 Gazetted Officer in Flying, Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical branches) and Meteorology entry for grant of Permanent/ Short Service Commission in the Indian Air Force. AFCAT is a gateway for both male and female candidates who wish to join the Indian Air Force. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in the online exam as well as the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview.
